CLARE WERE EMPHATIC winners over Waterford in this evening’s Electric Ireland Munster MFC playoff at Cusack Park.
Having lost 2-16 to 1-6 to Kerry in last week’s provincial opener, Seamus Clancy’s side bounced back to claim a 20-point victory — scoring five goals along the way with Corofin forward Gearóid Cahill grabbing a hat-trick.
There was only two points in it at half-time, as Clare led 1-3 to 0-4, but the second half proved an extremely one-sided affair.
The Banner will now play Tipperary in Ennis next week for a place in the Munster semi-finals, while Waterford’s championship hopes are over for another year.
