As the Hollies’ classic “He Ain’t Heavy… He’s My Brother” played over the tannoy, two young fans wearing Everton and Liverpool kits bearing the numbers “9″ and “6″ held hands in the centre circle and Goodison Park rose as one to applaud the memory of the city’s dead.
