Sick note

Vincent Kompany forced off just 10 minutes into tonight's game at the Bernabeu

Another cruel blow for the Belgian defender.

MANCHESTER CITY SUFFERED a huge injury blow less than 10 minutes into their decisive Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid tonight.

Vincent Kompany has been blighted by a series of muscle injuries this season and pulled up holding his right leg before being replaced by Eliaquim Mangala at the Bernabeu.

The City captain fell to the floor under no contact after playing a pass just inside the Madrid half, apparently clutching at his thigh.

Not long after, the home side broke the deadlock as Gareth Bale’s deflected effort looped up and over Joe Hart.

Real will meet Atletico Madrid in the final on 28 May.
