The Germany underage international, born to an Ethiopian father, has impressed with the Arsenal youth team and earned himself a trip on the senior side’s preseason tour.
Speaking about Zelalem before setting off for Asia, Wilshere said, “There’s a young lad called Gedion, he’s a good player. He’s a bit… physically, he’s not there yet but technically, he’s not far off.”
The teenager, who was spotted playing for Olney Rangers Soccer club in Maryland, USA, made his mark in the club’s 7-0 win over the Indonesian All-Stars.
