Michael Fennelly has extra incentive to beat Tipperary today

The Ballyhale Shamrocks star is starting a new job in the Premier County later this month.

MICHAEL FENNELLY HAS plenty riding on today’s All-Ireland hurling final.

The 2011 Hurler of the Year recently finished a Masters in Sports Performance at the University of Limerick, where he spent last winter on work placement in Australia with the Sydney Swans.

The 29-year-old will face Tipperary at 3.30pm and life could be made a little bit more difficult if Kilkenny don’t come out on the right side of the victory.

Fennelly is due to begin working as a lecturer Setanta College in Thurles later this month.

“If you could just get Setanta College and bring it over to Kilkenny now it would be great,” he joked.

“I’m starting a new lecture role on Strength & Conditioning with Setanta College. It’s starting in September, doing nutrition and fitness conditioning so I’m really excited about it, looking forward to it.

“The college seems to be growing, there’s massive potential within the course and within the college and they’ve a new building as well that’s ready to open up now come September/October.

“That’s exciting and they’ve a new masters now actually that’s going live in September. They’ve one online as well so there’s so much happening there at the moment, (it’s a) good space to be in and hopefully I’ll be going with a smile on my face down that direction come September.”
