Nate Diaz tells Bruce Buffer to 'get off the UFC's nuts' after comments about his attitude

Buffer told TMZ that Diaz should stop complaining about his employers after earning $7m in his last fight.

IT WAS AN inevitability that Nate Diaz would fire back at Bruce Buffer after ‘The Voice of the Octagon’ called into question the lightweight’s attitude in an interview with TMZ.

“Nate, I heard you made seven or more million dollars in your last fight,” Buffer told the entertainment news website. “I don’t want to hear you complaining about being under-promoted by the UFC. You should be thanking the UFC and bowing to Dana White every time you see him.

“You got seven or more million dollars gross before taxes – maybe much more – which I love knowing that you have, Nate. Please, I don’t want to hear any more complaints.”

The complaints to which Buffer referred were Diaz’s claims that we was being “under-promoted” by the organisation after the press conference to discuss his contest with Dustin Poirier was overshadowed by the announcement of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s long-awaited lightweight title defence against Conor McGregor.

Following Buffer’s indirect advice, however, Diaz had a fresh complaint, and took to Twitter in typical fashion.

“Get off the UFC nuts”, Diaz wrote. “I bow down to no one ever, for all the money in the world.”

Buffer, the UFC’s Master of Ceremonies and a half-brother of his boxing equivalent Michael Buffer, responded to Diaz earlier this morning, claiming he did not mean for Diaz to submit to his employers, but to respect them.

The 33-year-old Diaz hasn’t fought since losing his rematch to Conor McGregor up at 170 pounds at UFC 202 in 2016, and is currently scheduled to face another former ‘Notorious’ foe, Dustin Poirier, on 3 November.
