North helps Sligo overcome Limerick to stay in touch with leaders

An own goal from Patrick Nzuzi had put Ian Baraclough’s side ahead on nine minutes.

AN OWN GOAL from Patrick Nzuzi and a Danny North strike enabled Sligo to beat Limerick 2-0 at the Showgrounds in the Airtricity League this evening.

Nzuzi put his side behind after nine minutes, as he misdirected the ball into the net from Kieran Djilali’s dangerous cross.

North then made Sligo’s lead more comfortable on 54 minutes, scoring an opportunistic finish, after the ball bounced kindly into his path from a free-kick.

The result means Ian Baraclough’s men are now just six points behind league leaders Dundalk.
