4.  Monica Seles

Surprisingly down in fourth place, Monica Seles invented “The Grunt”.  At 93.2dB, this is the same noise level produced by an electric drill.   No wonder her opponents felt like she was drilling a hole in their heads.

The Belarusian has been recorded as high as 95dB, the equivalent noise level you would be subjected to standing next to a subway train.

The darling of the grunters, Sharapova’s record shriek was measured at 105dB.  To get an idea of just how loud that is, stand about 3ft away from a chainsaw.
