Open thread: Where does last night rank in terms of Ireland's greatest results ever?

The Boys in Green have pulled off several similarly incredible results in the past.

ALTHOUGH THEY MAY have been missing some key players, Ireland drawing away against the world champions last night was no mean feat.

Germany played with five of the 11 who started the World Cup final and hadn’t lost a home qualifier since October 2007.

So for Ireland — without arguably their two best players in James McCarthy and Seamus Coleman — to secure a 1-1 draw was a significant achievement.

That said, the Boys in Green have produced several similarly incredible results in the past — the defeat of England at Euro 88, the win over Italy in World Cup 94 and the defeat of Holland in the 2001 qualifier are all considered as being among the country’s best results ever.

So what do you think? How high does last night’s game rank?
