THE ALL-IRELAND HURLING Championship really swings into action this weekend as a second province joins the party.
So it’s time to stop speculating and start making calls.
Will Kilkenny cope without Tommy Walsh? Can Tipperary get over the line? Can Cork and Clare rediscover their 2013 form or will some other team spring up and surprise us?
There’s a great summer’s hurling ahead of us, but who will emerge victorious before autumn comes rolling in?
Call it.
Poll Results:
Tipperary (1108)
Kilkenny (648)
Cork (423)
Limerick (390)
Clare (384)
Other (231)
Waterford (226)
Dublin (200)
Very disrespectful not to have Galway on the list, coming from a Cork fan
And Wexford? Just as likely as Clare/Waterford/Dublin/Limerick…..worst poll ever…..
I know that people will say that it’s hard to look beyond Kilkenny and since the turn of the millennium that has been true more often than not. However, even the great Cats will find it difficult to replace all if the players who retired last year in one season which should give other countied a fighting chance. Either way it should make for another exiting hurling championship this year, especially in Munster where any of the 5 counties there can think this is their year.
Only player they really have to replace John is JJ, all the rest were only bench players, they will be missed but nothing like having to find a replacement for Delaney. Looks like Joey Holden will be given his chance there.
Apart from that, the starting 15 is pretty young, another few All Irelands left in em if everyone can be kept fit.
Is ‘other’ another way of spelling Galway ?
This is the year, believe it or not
Tipp lads must be up early voting
Wide open championship this year.
They said that last year too. 2 best teams in the country for the final. Tipp and Kilkenny. Hard to call after that.
I can see Tipp targeting and winning Munster but not all ireland, I don’t think Kk are going to do it this year either, I hope it won’t be Clare or we’ll never hear or see the end of Davy’s whining. Hard to know outside of them but as a longshot I think Dub were the most impressive in the league if they can learn to hold onto leads.

vote no to Kilkenny! we want equality!
Carlow for me
42 years later it will be our year!!!! We have to be right at some stage.
Luimneach Abu!
If Kilkenny can win Leinster then there going to be hard to stop, even with the loss of the big name players.
Tipp had their chance last year, Kilkenny are still ahead of the pack
Dublin only have a hope if the big hitters cancel each other out
Didn’t every team have their chance this time last year!? Huh?!
New year… New chance.
My avatar could label me as biased here but… I do think waterford could be a surprise package this year. Kinda like clare in 2013. No one expects the Spanish inquisition
I think Dublin could be very dangerous this year under new management
As if the Munster title wasn’t hard enough to call, you have to ask the All Ireland Question? Would love to see Tipp do it after last year’s Heart-break, but I have a feeling Clare could really bring something special to Munster and an AI tilt as well. Incredibly tough Championship to call … could be a fantastic year for the small-ball!
Galway who drew with the mighty Cats as recently as last year not even mentioned? Daft.
lazy stuff from sean farrell, galway are always in with a chance.
