SINCE HIS BIG-MONEY move from Hull during the summer, Shane Long had gone ten Premier League appearances without finding the net for his new club Southampton.
However, the Ireland striker made up for lost time this afternoon as he ensured the Saintsโ superlative start to the season continued. Long scored both goals as Ronald Koemanโs side beat Leicester City 2-0, a victory that consolidates their position in second place.
Long has now three goals for the south-coast club after netting in the Capital One Cup against Stoke City last month.
Nonetheless, it seems he has picked the best possible time to return to form with Irelandโs crunch qualifier against Scotland on the horizon.
Now, if he could save one of these fine finishes for Celtic Park next week.

Because he won.
@Verandah: If you scroll back up and read the article,you will see that they shook hands before and after the match.
The body language in the picture actually suggests a bit of maturity on Joseโs part. Never thought Iโd see the day tbh
Although todayโs win for United was well needed itโs only papering over the cracks, letโs be honest here Chelsea are a shadow of the team they were last year with Conte on the verge of being sacked. United are lucky to have met them in this vulnerable position
@Jamie Smith: Youโre a clown
@William Motley: why is anything Iโve said a lie ? Or non truth ?
@Jamie Smith: obsessed
@Jamie Smith: not untrue but u literally make the same points on every article, itโs beyond repetitive at this stage. Iโm a pool fan but Fans from every club are sick hearing from u now because u offer nothing new, just the constant trolling. And yes it is trolling when u constantly repeat yourself to wind people up
@Jamie Smith: lets be honest ur a tool
@Jamie Smith: I like you Al.
@Paul Mallon: use the block button lads. The best thing The 42 did was implementing it. It stopped trolls from ruining decent discussions between genuine fans. I wouldnโt sit in a bar and lisren to someone talking rubbish and I wonโt do it here.
Such class and maturity from Jose Mourinho again. Didnโt jump round like a clown at the final whistle or when Utd scored. Some managers could learn a thing of two from him
@Na seacht iontach: the irony of that comment, come on seriously
@Na seacht iontach: He never does jump up and down really. He has really calmed down these last few years, Jose of 10 years ago would keep the fued going. A touch of class from both managers.
Itโs really hotting up for 2nd 3rd and 4th. I think Arsenal wont make it and its looking like Chelsea are in serious trouble now of missing out on the top 4. Im thinking liverpool 2nd United 3rd and spurs 4th
Who do you guys think will win the league of Ireland this year or do you even know it exists !!
@Douvan: cork city
@Douvan: Athlone Townโฆmaybe?
