WE’VE ABOUT two or three weeks of club rugby left and then we are into the World Cup build-up. Exciting, isn’t it?

People probably say this every four years, but this World Cup feels relatively open. Sure, the AB’s are still the AB’s, but with England at home, Ireland flying, the Springboks being typically massive and Wales and Australia looking feisty, there still is a lot left to be decided.

To that end, South Africa have released a motivational video to get their fans ready for this autumn. And yes, they are still wheeling out the Mandela footage…

Looking at the pools, we are likely to get a classic World Cup semi-final between New Zealand and South Africa. If it ends up anything like last year’s Rugby Championship cracker, Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer might not survive it.
