Kerry's Paul Murphy wins All-Ireland football final man of the match award

Murphy beat out Kieran Donaghy and Peter Crowley for The Sunday Game award.

PAUL MURPHY HAS been named as man of the match for the All-Ireland senior football final after an impressive display in his side’s 2-09 to 0-12 win over Donegal today.

Kerry’s defence was resolute all day and consistently crowded out the Donegal attackers. Murphy gave a great account of himself as part of a airtight rearguard that also had Peter Crowley nominated for the award.

Kieran Donaghy, who scored 1-02, was also nominated but The Sunday Game panel decided to give the award to Murphy.

Kerry and Donegal have five apiece in The Sunday Game team of the year
