Suspended: Joseph O'Brien to miss the Irish Guineas

The young jockey was found guilty of overusing the whip at Chester and has been given a four-day ban.

JOCKEY JOSEPH O’Brien will not compete in the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas after receiving a four-day ban at Chester.

The talented 19-year-old, son of trainer Aidan, finished second behind 50/1 shot Good Morning Star with Betterbetterbetter in the Weatherbys Bank Cheshire Oaks.

According to Sky Sports, however, he will be out of action between May 23-26 after being found guilty of overusing the whip.

That will result in his absence from the first day of the Irish Guineas at the Curragh.
