Tyler Farrar wins Stage Three of the Tour De France, while Thomas Levet finds himself regretting the manner in which he celebrated his French Open win.

1. #JERSEY LAUNCH Leinster have revealed their new jersey as their stars begin preparations for the Rugby World Cup. Sean O’Brien has said he is “glad to be back” training after the team took a brief summer break following their Heineken Cup excursions.

2. #TOUR DE FRANCE The most famous cycling tournament in the world is now well underway, with Tyler Farrar winning Stage Three yesterday.

The event continues today, with Stage Four, as Irish cyclist Nicolas Roche looks to improve on his current overall placing of 41st.

3. #IRISH STARS A number of Irish stars look set to conclude moves to various clubs, most notably John O’Shea who has indicated he is willing to move to Sunderland, while Kevin Doyle may be Arsenal bound according to reports yesterday.

4. #BOXING David Haye has refused to remain downbeat following his loss to Wladimir Klitschko at the weekend. The English boxer blamed a sore toe for his underwhelming performance and has called for a rematch with the Ukranian.

5. #GAA Cork have been left reeling from the news yesterday that Ciarán Sheehan is set to miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury. The player was injured during last weekend’s defeat to Kerry.

6. # FRENCH OPEN Golfer Thomas Levet celebrated winning the French Open yesterday by jumping into a nearby lake, fracturing his shin in the process and unwittingly scuppering his chances of competing in this week’s Scottish Open.
