PAUL NICHOLLS CELEBRATED his 10th victory in the Tingle Creek Chase as Politologue took the spoils in Saturday’s big Grade 1 at Sandown.
Colin Tizzard’s Fox Norton was sent off the short-priced 8/13 favourite but it was Politologue (7/2 2fav) who made the first move as the two-mile contest reached its climax.
With Fox Norton giving game chase, Harry Cobden steered Politiologue into a three-length lead as they flew over the last, and held off the favourite’s late rally to win by half a length.

Blaklion (7/4 fav) cemented his Grand National credentials with a dominant win in the Becher Chase over the National Fences, while Gas Lion Boy (9/2 fav) was every bit as assured in winning the Grand Sefton Chase by four-and-a-half lengths.
