The pre-match meal is a key part of any big game prep, as these Waterford fans know

Early lunch has been taken in Thurles.

IT’S MUNSTER HURLING final day in Thurles and preparations for Tipperary’s clash with Waterford are well underway.

Throw-in at Semple Stadium isn’t until 4pm but these Déise fans have set up camp early for an important part in any pre-match ritual – an early lunch.

They’ve left nothing to chance with a full spread including the staple hang sandwichs, a flask of pipping hot tae and, as a special treat, a couple of cocktail sausages.

We can only speculate as to what other grub they have stored away in that backpack for the afternoon ahead. It’s important to keep the energy levels up, after all.
