Bradley Wiggins breaks leg on TV show

A spokesman for producers Channel 4 confirmed that the former Team Sky cyclist was pulling out.

BRITISH CYCLING GREAT Bradley Wiggins has pulled out of a winter sports television show after breaking his leg.

The newly-retired winner of five Olympic gold medals, 36, wrote on Twitter that he was “gutted” to be leaving ‘The Jump’ which sends celebrities speeding down a purpose-built ski jump.

“Seen a specialist, I have a small leg fracture & need to rest for 3/6 weeks. Good news no surgery or cast required,” he said.

“No horror smash, small training injury which means I can’t compete. No terrible break, just need to rest it.”

A spokesman for producers Channel 4 confirmed that the former Team Sky cyclist was pulling out.

“Bradley injured his leg during training and although keen to continue in the competition he will no longer take part following the fourth show in the series.”

The 2012 Tour de France winner joins a long list of contestants that have suffered injuries while filming The Jump, including former Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle.
