Finn on the double as Dundalk stay on track for title with Sligo draw

DUNDALK MOVED A step closer to retaining their league crown tonight as they picked up another point at home to Sligo Rovers.

Earlier, second-placed Cork City could only draw at the Carlisle Grounds, meaning this title chase looks all but over.

Ronan Finn was the star of the show, scoring one in each half. After a quarter of an hour he picked up the ball inside the box and swept home.

Rovers levelled it up through a Dinny Corcoran header after the break before Finn restored the hosts lead. He was on the end of a quick free-kick and finished impressively.

Alan Keane however ensured the Bit O’Red headed home with a deserved point with a 76th-minute screamer.
