IAN MADIGAN HAS been selected in his favoured out-half position for his Top 14 debut tomorrow night (19.45, Sky Sports 3) when Bordeaux-Begles welcome Ronan O’Gara’s Racing 92 to Stade Chaban Delmas.
The Irish international gets an immediate chance to make an impression following his summer move to France. And he will find another Dublin accent on the field as former Clontarf scrum-half James Hart has been selected to partner Dan Carter for the reigning champions.
The 25-year old made the move to Paris during the summer three years after making the breakthrough with Bernard Jackman’s Grenoble.
Madigan, who won his 30th cap — 24 of them off the bench — when he made a brief appearance in the third test against South Africa, has been settling in well in France, working hard on his language skills since his move to Bordeaux was announced in December.
He will also have been helped by Bordeaux-Begles’ moved to train in the early morning to avoid the stifling heat of the summer.
