10 players from 2015 All-Ireland U21 winning team to start for Limerick against Cork

Manager John Kiely has named a strong side.

LIMERICK HAVE PICKED a team packed with All-Ireland U21 hurling winners for tomorrow night’s Bord Gáis Energy Munster quarter-final against Cork.

Manager John Kiely has selected a side with ten players who started in last September’s All-Ireland final success over Wexford.

Defenders Richie English, Mike Casey, Colin Ryan and Ronan Lynch all started last year along with the midfield pairing from Doon of Darragh O’Donovan and Pat Ryan.

In attack, Cian Lynch, Tom Morrissey, David Dempsey and Barry Nash are all survivors from the triumph in Semple Stadium last year.

In addition wing-back Andrew La Touche Cosgrave and corner-forward Peter Casey both came on as subs in that game against Wexford.

From the 2015 Limerick team, David McCarthy, Diarmaid Byrnes, Barry O’Connell and Gearoid Hegarty are now all overage while Sean Finn is out for the season with a cruciate injury.

Richie English, Cian Lynch and Barry Nash all started for the Limerick senior team in their recent loss to Tipperary in the Munster semi-final while Tom Morrissey came on as a substitute.
