Shelbourne need a win to maintain realistic hopes of progression in the Uefa Conference League.
It won’t be easy, however.
Crystal Palace are strong favourites.
Oliver Glasner’s side started the day 16 places above them in the Uefa Conference League table and could do with a win themselves that would be all but ensure their progress to the knockout stages.
The Eagles also have had an excellent season so far domestically — they are fourth in the Premier League table, seven points off leaders Arsenal.
Kick-off at Tallaght Stadium is at 8pm.

Confirmation of the Shels team below.
Joey O’Brien has revealed Mipo Odubeko is “sick” and therefore not in the matchday squad.
It means Sean Boyd gets a rare start following an injury-interrupted campaign.
Crystal Palace have made four changes from their 2-1 win over Fulham at the weekend. Goalkeeper Walter Benitez, Justin Devenny, Borna Sosa and Christantus Uche all come into the team.
A nice series of passes ends with Nketiah squaring it to Uche, who finishes coolly for his first goal of the campaign.

14 mins: Chance for Shelbourne.
Wood sends Boyd through on goal, but the striker can’t control it properly, and the ball runs away from him.
Down the other end, Wharton fires a first-time effort narrowly over from the edge of the area.

19 mins: Shelbourne are defending relatively well.
But they are struggling to keep hold of it on the rare occasions they get the ball, meaning they’re having to deal with relentless waves of Palace attacks.

20 mins: Shelbourne win a free kick in a promising position.
Palace half clear before it falls to Barrett, whose shot from about 30 yards out is wayward.

22 mins: Nketiah finds himself through on goal after a great defence-splitting pass by Wharton.
But Mbeng makes a well-timed challenge to stop him getting a shot away.
Half-time, and it’s been all too easy for the Premier League side.
The visitors have cut Shels open on a couple of occasions, and the gap in quality and financial disparity between the teams has been apparent.
Joey O’Brien’s men have had a couple of half-chances, but their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages look set to end barring a minor miracle.
The Irish side’s main aim in the second half will be avoiding a hammering — for that to be the case, they will either need to improve significantly or hope Palace ease off with the victory effectively secured already.
The most disappointing aspect for the Dublin side will be defensively — the goals were avoidable, though it’s difficult given that their opponents have had so much possession, and it’s exhausting having to sit back for the majority of the game.

So that’s that.
Shelbourne’s chances of progressing to the knockout stages of the Uefa Conference League are officially over.
In truth, the Dublin side were outclassed by the Premier League outfit.
Palace had the game won by half-time with a couple of excellently taken goals.
Joey O’Brien’s men will be disappointed by the manner in which they conceded all three.
However, they showed spirit in the second half to avoid a heavier defeat and were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet themselves, with the lively substitute Kelly going especially close to scoring in the dying moments.

As it happened: Shelbourne v Crystal Palace, Uefa Conference League
Shelbourne 0-3 Crystal Palace
Hello, and welcome to tonight’s liveblog.
Who do you think will win?
Poll Results:
We’re underway…
3 mins: Early chance for Palace as a long throw into the area causes problems.
Guéhi fails to get a proper connection on the loose ball, and eventually Speel gathers it, though the offside flag was up anyway.
9 mins: Shelbourne have done well in the last few minutes after an early period of Palace pressure.
Joey O’Brien’s men have passed the ball about confidently at times and not looked under significant pressure defensively.
SHELBOURNE 0-1 CRYSTAL PALACE (UCHE 11)
Out of nothing, Palace take the lead.

22 mins: Nketiah finds himself through on goal after a great defence-splitting pass by Wharton.
But Mbeng makes a well-timed challenge to stop him getting a shot away.
SHELBOURNE 0-2 CRYSTAL PALACE (NKETIAH 25)
Palace double their advantage.
Kamada slips through Uche.
The attacker’s effort comes back off the post, but Nketiah is on hand to tap home the rebound.
28 mins: There’s a stoppage as Ledwidge is down following a collision with Mbeng.
Shels could do with a breather as they’re struggling to deal with the Palace attack at the moment.
Here’s a look at the opening goal…
31 mins: Another promising Shels attack.
Mbeng lays it to McInroy, whose first-time shot from the edge of the area is a few inches over the bar.
36 mins: Close for Palace! Wharton’s corner finds Richards, whose header hits the bar.
Nketiah gets to the rebound first, but his header hits the side-netting.
SHELBOURNE 0-3 CRYSTAL PALACE (PINO 37)
Pino gets away from Ledwidge and is afforded far too much space by Shels’ defence, as he fires the ball into the corner of the net.
This could get ugly for the Irish side, who have been second best by far in this opening half.
41 mins: Wood’s delivery finds Barrett.
But the defender miskicks his finish.
Palace then break, and Pino crosses for Devenny, whose header is off target.
There will be two minutes of first-half stoppage time.
As I type, Sosa receives the ball on the edge of the area, but his driven shot is straight at Speel.
HALF-TIME: SHELBOURNE 0-3 CRYSTAL PALACE
Half-time, and it’s been all too easy for the Premier League side.
The visitors have cut Shels open on a couple of occasions, and the gap in quality and financial disparity between the teams has been apparent.
Joey O’Brien’s men have had a couple of half-chances, but their hopes of advancing to the knockout stages look set to end barring a minor miracle.

Here’s a look at the third Palace goal…
And here’s a look at the second goal of the game…
The second half has begun…
Palace have made three changes at the break.
Kamada, Wharton and Pino are off.
Hughes, Lerma and Esse come on.
47 mins: Palace go close early in the second half.
Speel’s clearance is charged down before the goalkeeper saves Nketiah’s attempt on goal.
52 mins: Palace continue to dominate.
Lerma’s header from a corner hits the roof of the net.
55 mins: Best move of the match from Shels.
A nice series of passes leads to McInroy putting in a dangerous low cross.
It narrowly misses the outstretched leg of Boyd, though it wouldn’t have counted, as the linesman had his flag up.
57 mins: Nketiah gets away from Barrett.
But Speel is alert to parry away the striker’s shot at the goalkeeper’s near post.
Moments later, Richards heads the ball narrowly wide from a corner.
59 mins: Two Shels changes.
Ledwidge and Martin go off.
Kelly and Wilson are on.
64 mins: It’s still largely one-way traffic towards the Shels area.
But a mixture of better defending from the hosts and the visitors easing off in terms of intensity means it remains 3-0.
67 mins: Palace make another change.
Ex-Liverpool player Nathaniel Clyne replaces Nketiah, who caused plenty of problems for the Shels’ defence.
71 mins: Shels have had a couple of promising attacks in recent minutes without carving out a clear-cut opportunity.
As I type, Uche skies his finish over when through on goal.
Before that, Esse’s low shot from the edge of the box somehow stays out after coming back off both posts.
75 mins: Shels make another substitution.
Sean Gannon comes on for Mark Coyle.
79 mins: It’s been a fairly uneventful last few minutes.
For the most part, Palace have been in control without seriously threatening.
81 mins: More Shels changes.
Mbeng and Wood go off.
Temple and Chapman come on.
Palace are also forced into a sub.
Devenny hobbles off, with 17-year-old Casey replacing him.
89 mins: A positive moment for Shels as Kelly makes a long driving run on the counter-attack.
But Sosa gets back well to make the recovery tackle.
90 mins: Big chance for Shels.
Boyd heads on a free kick into the area, and Kelly’s finish forces a good save by Benitez.
FULL-TIME: SHELBOURNE 0-3 CRYSTAL PALACE
So that’s that.
Shelbourne’s chances of progressing to the knockout stages of the Uefa Conference League are officially over.
