THE BMW PGA Championship starts on Wednesday and the time-sheet for the Pro-Am in Wentworth is like a who’s who of sporting legends.
More than 50 celebrities from the world of sport, music, TV and film have teamed up with some of the biggest names in golf for the prestigious Pro-Am event at the plush country club in Surrey just outside London.
Event organisers announced the line-up for this year’s Championship curtain raiser earlier and there are a host of star-studded groups ready to tackle the iconic West Course.
This year’s cast doesn’t disappoint with an array of footballers, rugby players, jockeys and cricketers set to grace the fairways with their agricultural swings and dodgy putting.
As was announced a couple of weeks ago, world number one Rory McIlroy will tee it up alongside former Man United stars Paul Scholes and Phil Neville with One Direction’s Niall Horan, who caddied for McIlroy in the Par 3 tournament at Augusta, completing the four ball.
Recently retired AP McCoy will have a lot more time on his hands now and he plays alongside Shane Lowry and fellow jockeys Mick Fitzgerald and Carl Llewellyn while Keith Wood joins Padraig Harrington for a big-hitting team which also includes Mike Tindall and Andy Nicol.
Here’s the time-sheet in full and it got us debating who we would invite to play in a four ball. Let us know who you’d like to play 18 holes with in the comment section below.

Meanwhile, Patrick Reed has pulled out of next week’s Irish Open in Royal County Down.
Reed was scheduled to play in Wentworth before making the trip across the Irish sea. However, he has opted instead to play at this week’s Crowne Plaza Invitational in Texas.
“We will not be able to travel overseas at this time. My sincere apologies go to the organisers of both events, and to the fans,” Reed said.
“I am really looking forward to playing on the European Tour this year which makes me even more disappointed to withdraw from Wentworth and the Irish Open.”
