Rafa Benitez's Newcastle to begin Championship preparations in Ireland

The recently-relegated club will play Bohs in July.

NEWCASTLE WILL BEGIN their preparations for life back in the second tier of English football with a week-long training camp in Ireland, concluding with a friendly against Bohemians.

Rafa Benitez’s side will spend a week at Carton House in Kildare before facing Bohs at Dalymount Park on Saturday 16 July.

“We’re delighted to welcome such an iconic club with a big Irish following to Dalymount Park,” Bohs manager Keith Long said.

“Our players are looking forward to pitting their wits against a team full of international players and some household names.”

Newcastle visited Dalymount Park for a friendly in July 1998, when the sides drew 1-1.

Tickets for the game will be priced at €15 for adults, €10 for students and €5 for children.
