All-Ireland champions to start league season in front of home fans

Tipperary and Kerry get to start their 2026 at home venues as the leagues throw in.

ALL-IRELAND CHAMPIONS Kerry and Tipperary will begin their 2026 Allianz League campaigns at home in the opening round.

In what would appear to be the natural choice for a Saturday night televised game, Tipperary host Galway on Saturday 24 January at FBD Semple Stadium.

Kerry get up and running the following day on Sunday 25 January with a home game against Roscommon at Fitzgerald Stadium, Killarney.

The GAA published its Master Fixture Plan for 2026 on Wednesday, including full fixtures for the Allianz Leagues.

Allianz have been sponsoring the leagues competitions since 1993 and are the chief insurer of the GAA, the GAA’s stadiums and clubs. However, the partnership remains under consideration by the GAA’s Ethics and Integrity Commission following a United Nations report which identified Allianz’s German parent company, through its subsidiary PIMCO, among the companies and corporations which hold Israeli war bonds.

In recent weeks, the county boards of Tyrone, Fermanagh, Down and Offaly have passed motions at their respective annual conventions, calling for the GAA to end its commercial relationship with Allianz.
