Before we really get into today’s semi-final, how impressive were Kerry yesterday? Similar to their second-half blitz against Armagh, they just worked through the gears to dispatch Tyrone.

Can either of today’s teams match up to the might of the Kingdom in the final?

Meath change to matchday panel:

  • Dunboyne’s Michael Murphy replaces Cathal Hickey on the bench.

Throw-in! Donegal v Meath

1 min: Donegal 0-0 Meath 0-0

Meath win the throw-in and immediately go on the attack. Centre-back Seán Coffey gets on the end of it but his shot is wide.

1 min: Donegal 0-1 Meath 0-0

Donegal get their turn to advance. Ryan McHugh pushes forward and feeds Michael Murphy who swings it over with a booming kick.

First blood to Donegal.

2 mins: Donegal 0-1 Meath 0-0

Long build-up play from Meath and a kickpass into Coffey has too much sauce on it and it goes wide.

4 mins: Donegal 0-1 Meath 0-1

Meath intercept a Donegal kickout and quickly counter. It comes to Ruairí Kinsella who gets lots of air under the shot and it’s over the bar.

All square in Croke Park.

6 mins: Donegal 0-2 Meath 0-3

Conor O’Donnell edges Donegal back in front after a very assured attack. O’Donnell compliments the work with a super shot off his left.

But Meath then come storming down the field and Eoghan Frayne raises their first orange flag with brilliant long-range kick.

Royals now hold the advantage.

8 mins: Donegal 0-2 Meath 0-3

Meath turn Donegal over and Jordan Morris takes off with the ball. He tries to set up a goal opportunity but it’s a poor handpass which Donegal easily pick off.

Another Meath turnover follows as Seán Rafferty finds Conor Duke for a two-point effort. But it falls down the wrong side of the post.

Very pacey opening 10 minutes.

8 mins: Donegal 0-4 Meath 0-3

Donegal win a free outside the arc. Michael Murphy comes over to take it off the ground and he strikes it sweetly with the aid of the breeze. That’s 0-3 for him already.

Donegal lead again.

9 mins: Donegal 0-4 Meath 0-3

Matthew Costello comes around on the loop and curls his left foot at it but again it’s wide. That’s four shots off target for Meath and Donegal get the restart going quickly.

11 mins: Donegal 0-5 Meath 0-3

A second point for Shane O’Donnell as Donegal lead by two. Another impressive, measured Donegal attack. They work the ball around through the hands and that final pass puts O’Donnell in enough space to arrow the ball between the posts.

12 mins: Donegal 0-6 Meath 0-5

Ryan McHugh the latest to get on the scoresheet for Donegal. He uses the bounce to lose his man and shoot on the spin.

Kinsella then responds with a brilliant two-pointer. The gap is down to the minimum.

14 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

Michael Langan puts two between the teams again. Costello then registers a fifth wide for Meath with a brilliant shot from a really tricky angle.

Meath win the Donegal kickout though and Keith Curtis finds his range to reduce the difference again.

16 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

Frayne goes for it from outside the arc but the distance is off as Shaun Patton comes out to collect.

Donegal move the ball down the field with that same methodical approach and Shane O’Donnell’s attempt at a second point trails off target. That’s Donegal’s first wide of the game.

18 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

A pass to Peadar Mogan is almost dispossessed but the corner-back manages to keep the ball. Donegal work the ball out wide to Ryan McHugh who tries for an orange flag, but he doesn’t manage to execute it.

Morris then provides a sixth wide for Meath. Those missed chances could be costly.

20 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

Donegal turn Morris over and go on the march. They create a goal chance but a pop pass leaves Ciarán Moore and Conor O’Donnell undecided as to who to go for it. In the end, Seán Rafferty pounces to win the ball back for Meath.

20 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

Massive blow for Meath. Their influential midfielder Bryan Menton is forced off with injury and is replaced by Conor Gray.

Menton looked in great distress after coming out the wrong side of a tackle and limps off.

22 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

Meath have been hugely wasteful in front of the posts. Donal Keogan records another wide.

23 mins: Donegal 0-7 Meath 0-6

Ciarán Thompson takes a shot off his left under pressure, and that interference is enough to send his effort well wide of the target.

Donegal win the Meath kickout though and will look to build again.

25 mins: Donegal 0-8 Meath 0-6

Oisín Gallen hits a wide as Donegal’s radar starts to betray them. But they’re still on top of Meath’s kickouts so they win the ball back. They rack up the passes and Michael Langan eventually swings it over.

Two between the teams.

26 mins: Donegal 0-8 Meath 0-6

McHugh goes on one of his trademark runs. He tries to knock it over off his right but it’s a bad miss.

Meath eventually win one of their own kickouts through Kinsella. Matthew Costello unleashes a booming shot but it doesn’t have the distance and Patton gets Donegal on the move once more.

28 mins: Donegal 0-9 Meath 0-6

Shane O’Donnell with a very poor kick that totally slices off his boot with nobody around him. Donegal win a free though after winning another Meath kickout and Oisín Gallen draws the challenge.

It’s a simple tap-over for Murphy to extend the gap to three.

29 mins: Donegal 0-10 Meath 0-6

Donegal claim another Meath kickout. The move ends with a Gallen point and now there’s a small bit of daylight creeping between the sides.

30 mins: Donegal 0-11 Meath 0-6

Thompson the latest to score for Donegal. That could easily have been a goal though as his effort grazes off the paint. Meath really need a spark but they’re really struggling to win their own kickouts.

31 mins: Donegal 0-11 Meath 0-7

SAVE!

Donegal are all over Meath and they get the first shot at goal. It looks like Donal Keogan was the one to keep the ball out.

They get some energy from that as Keith Curtis kicks their first score in some 15 minutes.

33 mins: Donegal 0-12 Meath 0-8

SAVE!

Another goal chance falls to Donegal as the ball comes back off the post. Hugh McFadden shoots on the turn but the Meath keeper Billy Hogan gets down to block the shot.

Meath get a much-needed point from Jordan Morris but Donegal quickly reply through Gallen.

34 mins: Donegal 0-13 Meath 0-8

Donegal have another go at the net. It comes to Murphy for the final effort and he boots it over the bar.

Half-Time! Donegal 0-13 Meath 0-8

Donegal 0-13 Meath 0-8

Meath went for another two-pointer at the buzzer from Kinsella but he fails to put it between the posts.

That was a scrappy first half all told. Both sides guilty of some poor shooting and Donegal have left a few goals behind them. However, Jim McGuinness will definitely be the happier of the two managers.

Donegal are really controlling this battle. Meath have really suffered since the loss of Bryan Menton to injury, and can’t seem to get a handle on their own kickouts.

Second-half: Donegal 0-13 Meath 0-8

35 mins: Donegal 0-13 Meath 0-9

Keith Curtis gives Meath the ideal start to the second half with a point from the throw-in. They need to build on that now.

36 mins: Donegal 0-13 Meath 0-9

Meath win a long-range Donegal kickout. But their attack is snuffed out as Ciarán Thompson comes away with the ball.

38 mins: Donegal 0-14 Meath 0-9

Conor O’Donnell restores that five-point difference. They win the Meath kickout but a kickpass to Murphy doesn’t connect and Meath can attack once more.

39 mins: Donegal 0-14 Meath 0-9

McHugh does brilliantly to intercept a handpass in an attempt to work a Meath goal. He carries the ball forward and is dragged down by Morris.

40 mins: Donegal 0-14 Meath 0-9

Bad wide for Conor O’Donnell after doing all the hard work. He carried the ball brilliantly through the Meath cover and all it needed was a delicate touch to tap the ball over. But he screws the shot and Meath will be relieved to see that.

41 mins: Donegal 0-14 Meath 0-10

Frayne makes Donegal pay with a point that is helped over by both the post and the crossbar.

GOAL! Donegal 1-14 Meath 0-10 (Oisín Gallen ’42)

44 mins: Donegal 1-15 Meath 0-10

Murphy adds to that brilliant Gallen goal with a point. Meath are now in big trouble. Can they rally from this?

Gallen’s finish was superb. He had plenty of Meath bodies in front of him, but he stuck his effort into the corner.

45 mins: Donegal 1-15 Meath 0-11

Meath come sniffing for a goal chance as Coffey is fouled. A point is badly needed and he obliges.

Donegal change: Paddy McBrearty in for Murphy. There’s a big roar to welcome McBrearty into Croke Park.

45 mins: Donegal 1-15 Meath 0-11

Meath change: Eoin Harkin replaces Adam O’Neill

47 mins: Donegal 1-16 Meath 0-11

McBrearty marks his introduction with a well-taken point. Curtis then tries to respond for Meath but he pulls his shot wide.

GOAL! Donegal 2-16 Meath 0-11 (Ciarán Moore ’49)

50 mins: Donegal 2-17 Meath 0-11

That could well be that as Ciarán Moore supplies Donegal’s second goal of the game with a brilliant finish into the bottom corner. Matthew Thompson almost gets their third from the next attack but Hogan pulls off a brilliant save.

Patton comes up to take and he drills it over.

Donegal change: Jason McGee is on for McFadden.

51 mins: Donegal 2-17 Meath 0-12

Harkin kicks a wide from Meath after muscling his way past a challenge. But Conor Duke then comes up with a point which is badly needed.

52 mins: Donegal 2-17 Meath 0-12

Donegal bring on another sub as Caolan McGonigle comes on for Caolan McColgan.

53 mins: Donegal 2-18 Meath 0-13

Frayne puts 10 between them after he loses his player with a nice step. Peadar Mogan cancels that out from the next move with a surging run and point at the end of it.

55 mins: Donegal 2-20 Meath 0-13

A second point for McBrearty before Conor O’Donnell kicks his third of the day.

56 mins: Donegal 2-21 Meath 0-13

Three points for McBrearty. He is giving McGuinness something to thin about for the final.

GOAL! Donegal 3-21 Meath 0-13 (Conor O’Donnell ’58)

59 mins: Donegal 3-21 Meath 0-13

Simply superb stuff from Donegal. Oisín Gallen finds Conor O’Donnell with a beautiful kick pass and O’Donnel buries it with his left.

This has been an awesome display from the Ulster champions, and we are looking towards a repeat of the 2014 All-Ireland final now.

62 mins: Donegal 3-22 Meath 0-13

Moore points to continue ticking the scoreboard along for Donegal.

64 mins: Donegal 3-23 Meath 0-14

Langan with his third of the day and it’s just a case of working through the minutes now. This has been such a comprehensive display from Donegal.

Seán Rafferty scores at the other end for Meath but he looks to be in pain now.

65 mins: Donegal 3-24 Meath 0-14

Lovely point from Donegal substitute Daire Ó Baoill.

66 mins: Donegal 3-25 Meath 0-14

Langan with his fourth of the day but there was a fourth goal on there for Donegal and McBrearty lets him know as he was ready for the final pass.

69 mins: Donegal 3-26 Meath 0-15

Thompson collects a pass from McBrearty before squeezing the ball through a tight angle. The buzzer is looming.

Full-Time! Donegal 3-26 Meath 0-15

Donegal 3-26 Meath 0-15

Another one-sided semi-final unfortunately as Donegal just storm through Meath with an awesome display. They left a lot of chances behind them in the first half but Ciarán Moore, Oisín Gallen and Conor O’Donnell supplied the Donegal goals to help power them into the final.

Meath struggled hugely after losing Bryan Menton in midfield and their shooting was very poor throughout.

And so, it will be Donegal v Kerry in the All-Ireland final. What a game that promises to be.

Fintan O’Toole is our man in Croke Park today and he will be along with his match report in the next few moments.

Well, that’s all from us, folks. We hope you enjoyed the coverage of both All-Ireland semi-finals this weekend and hope to have you with us again soon.

Bye for now!
