ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC have announced the signing of former Ireland U21 international Jake Mulraney on a multi-year deal, subject to international clearance.

The 26-year-old winger made over 60 appearances during a three-year Stateside stint, lining out in MLS with Atlanta United and more recently, Orlando City.

Before then, he had spells at several clubs including Nottingham Forest, QPR, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and Hearts, where he worked with current Pat’s assistant boss Jon Daly.

On his move, the Crumlin United graduate explained: “I’ve been away for years [since the age of 14] so myself and the family are delighted to be home, seeing how our baby is at home too was a big part of the decision, overall I can’t wait and I’m looking forward to it.”

Elsewhere, Waterford FC have signed Barry Baggley from sister club Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old midfielder has featured 15 times in all competitions for Fleetwood.

Baggley, from Belfast, has had stints at Linfield and Glentoran as a youth player. He has risen through the ranks in the Northern Ireland set-up, earning selection for the U17s, U19s, and U21s. He has since been called up for his first senior training camp, which took place in the summer.

Baggley joins up with Danny Searle’s team this week ahead of the squad’s training camp in Dubai next week.

“I’m really looking forward to it and getting started. I know the club has got high expectations pushing for promotion and hopefully another cup run,” he said.

“From my point of view, I want to help the club and get as many minutes on the pitch as I can. I love to get on the ball and play forward and create, get into the box, and score goals when I can. I’ll work hard for the team in my defensive duties too when I need to.

“I spoke to Phoenix [Patterson] and he told me about how good the group was, about the top-class facilities and stadium, and how great the fans at the club are so I can’t wait to get started.”
