JOSE MOURINHO MAY have labelled him an ‘old man’ last season but Samuel Eto’o is far from finished as he continues to do what he does best – score goals.
The Cameroon striker scored twice – one in each half – to condemn lowly Burnley to another defeat on their return to the top flight. Sean Dyche’s side remain winless and should QPR avoid defeat tomorrow evening, Burnley will slip to the bottom of the Premier League.
Eto’o converted Leighton Baines’ pinpoint cross in the third minute before Danny Ings’ first top-flight goal brought the hosts level. Romelu Lukaku then restored Everton’s advantage before the interval as they took control of proceedings.
Burnley rarely threatened thereafter and Eto’o sealed the points with a couple of minutes remaining as his curling strike from outside the area flew over Tom Heaton. He came within inches of a hat-trick in the dying embers but after rounding the ‘keeper, his effort struck the post.
