GAVIN CROMWELL’S SIXANDAHALF is a horse that appears to have been forgotten a bit ahead of the County Hurdle.
Whilst somewhat frustrating over the past 12 months, she was a hot favourite in the mares’ novice event last year, and looked dead set to win until about 50 yards from the line.
She has lots of ability and, rated 139, this looks to be a rare case of the British handicapper being a shade lenient on an Irish runner.

Bioluminescence (50-1, William Hill)

Bioluminescence can only run in this race, and William Hill are offering a top-priced 50-1, which is worth a couple of quid each-way.
If she can run to her best, she has every chance of at least finishing in the first three for trainer Gavin Cromwell, who won this two years ago with Limerick Lace and provided the second to Dinoblue last year.

The returning Dinoblue will be a clear favourite and undoubtedly hard to beat, but she will return you less than €25 for your tenner, whereas Bioluminescence could return you €55 for the same stake — and that is merely if she places.
She should be primed.

The Passing Wife (8-1, William Hill)
Martin Pipe Handicap Hurdle, Friday 5.20pm
The Passing Wife has two entries on Friday alone, but likely goes in the festival finale, the Martin Pipe, where carrying top weight will be no concern whatsoever given his form.
Owned by the Can’t Say No Syndicate, and named as he is, there will be a spiritual few quid on this horse.
On form, moreover, he has plenty going for him. He won two bumpers, which is rare in Ireland, and finished close up in third in maidens behind smart horses in Thedeviluno and Koktail Brut, who are both bound for Grade Ones at Cheltenham.
He looked superb at Punchestown last time and has every credential to be a graded horse in a handicap here for Gavin Cromwell.
