TV3 studio looks like the Blockbusters and Catchphrase sets got it on - Comments of the Week

Did you make the cut this week?

MUCH OF THE week revolved around the final build-up to the Rugby World Cup and TV3 unveiled their new HD studio for the tournament.

The broadcaster have the exclusive rights for Ireland and will show all 48 games live over the next six weeks but they didn’t impress everyone with their set-up.

James was quick to make comparisons:

“Looks like the sets from Blockbusters and Catchphrase got it on.”

Our very own Murray Kinsella is part of TV3′s coverage and James was on song this week as he made this remark:

“I saw Murray getting out of his Aston Martin and shouting at his PA this morning as his latte wasn’t made with soy milk#notions”

Poor Shane Comer misread “Robbie Henshaw set to miss Ireland’s World Cup opener with injury” and had a little accident.

“Read the headline and completely missed the word “Opener”…I need a new pair of boxers…”

It wasn’t all about the Rugby World Cup, however. Nicolas Colsaerts made history on the European Tour as he recorded eight consecutive birdies and Dermot Doheny had his golfing hat on with this comment:

“He’ll get cut a shot or 2 for that.”

It’s a big weekend of sport, including Sunday’s All-Ireland final and now that the teams have been named, the countdown is really on.

However, as Wayne O’Fathaigh pointed out, we can’t really read too much into the team announcements.

“I will eat my own testicles with hollandaise sauce if that is the Kerry team that actually starts on Sunday.”
