POLICE HAVE CARRIED out a control explosion on a ‘suspicious package’ found outside the French team hotel in Paris, just hours before this evening’s Euro 2016 final.

Authorities evacuated the area around the Equipede Hotel after a bag was left unattended near the French team bus.

The bomb squad carried out the controlled explosion shortly after 5.30pm local time and it has since been confirmed that it was a false alarm.
