We’re in to the closing stages of the Premier Intermediate hurling final with Ballyhea leading 1-15 to 0-15 against Newcestown in the curtain-raiser.

Ballyhea claimed the Cork Premier IHC title in the curtain-raiser with a 1-17 to 0-16 final win over Newcestown. They’ll now play senior hurling next year and will take on Kerry’s Lixnaw in the first round in Munster.

The teams met in the 2010 county final of course with Sarsfields winning on that occasion by 1-17 to 0-18. Sarsfields are going for their fourth title in seven years after previous wins in 2008, 2010 and 2012. Glen Rovers last won this championship in 1989.
