HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…
Samir Nasri could be stranded at Manchester City until at least January.
The Daily Telegraph report that City’s £10 million valuation on top of the player’s £9.6 million yearly wage could deter any potential suitors.
Nasri has two more years remaining on his current contract with the Blues.
However the club are desperate to offload the 30-year-old, with manager Pep Guardiola insisting that the player is not part of his plan’s for this season.
Meanwhile Manchester United continue to be linked with a move for Danny Rose, who earlier today issued an apology to Tottenham for criticising the club’s lack of transfer activity.
It is believed the defender wants out of White Hart Lane and the Daily Record today report that Mourinho’s number one target before the transfer window closes is a new left back.
Mourinho alternated between Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo, Ashley Young, Luke Shaw and Matteo Darmian last season and will want to avoid deploying wing-backs by securing a proven left back ahead of his second campaign at Old Trafford.
Elsewhere Don Balon report that Real Madrid have held secret talks with Paulo Dybala in the hopes of bringing the Juventus star to the Bernabéu.
The Argentine was presented with the iconic number 10 squad number earlier this week, aiding suggestions that he will remain at the Old Lady next season.
Madrid, however, see the striker as a backup should they fail to sign Monaco’s Kylian Mbappé.
Finally, PSG could be willing to let Javier Pastore leave in return for 24-year-old Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak.
Spanish newspaper AS report that the PSG playmaker’s agent Marcelo Simonian was in Madrid this week to complete a deal which would see Oblak go the other way.
The shot stopper is valued at €100 million by the La Liga club.
Retro Deal of the Day: Paolo Di Canio to Charlton
On this day in 2003 Paolo Di Canio joined Charlton from West Ham on a free transfer.
The controversial Italian had spent five seasons at West Ham, scoring 52 goals in 141 appearances.
The player spent just one season at the Valley, scoring just five goals in 33 games before joining Lazio in 2004 with Charlton finishing seventh in the Premier League.
Di Canio scored four goals in the Premier League that season, all of which came from the penalty spot.
