IRISH MIDFIELDER ALAN Judge consolidated his place at the top of the Championship assists chart tonight, despite Brentford ultimately losing 3-2 away against Cardiff.
With the Bees 2-0 down, club captain Jake Bidwell headed home Judge’s corner to get the visitors back in the game.
The comeback was then complete on 86 minutes, as John Swift scored from a rebound, after Judge’s initial shot was saved.
However, Kenwyne Jones ensured a miserable night for Brentford, as he grabbed a last-minute winner from close range.
Judge now has eight goals and seven assists this season, meaning he has been involved in 50% of Brentford’s total goals in the Championship.
The 27-year-old won the Championship’s Player of the Month for October and has been involved in recent Ireland squads, though has yet to win a senior cap.
The former Blackburn player’s fine form saw him linked with moves to Premier League sides, including Leicester and Bournemouth, earlier this season.
Elsewhere in the Championship, Middlesbrough went top by beating Burnley 1-0 after Brighton could only draw 2-2 with QPR.
