The Irish homeless football team get off to unbelievable start at the World Cup this weekend

You don’t see this kind of result too often from an Irish soccer side.

THE HOMELESS WORLD Cup kicked off in Chile yesterday and with it came a sensational result for Ireland in their opening Group F game.

The Boys in Green swept aside Greece with ease to rack up an 11-1 win despite going a goal down early on.

Up next is group favourites Mexico at 7.30pm Irish time this evening. Homeless World Cup games are played with four players on a pitch of 22 x 16 metres with two seven minute periods.

The Irish squad is made up of Clayton Kelly, Graham Tucker, James Traynor, John Dowling, Thomas O’Dwyer, Craig Haslam, Darragh McNamara, Dylan Sheridan, Lee Geoghegan and Thomas McDonagh.
