Ireland Under-20s secure convincing victory over France

A Man-of-the-Match performance from Tom Daly helped his side to a win.

THE IRELAND UNDER-20 team gained an accomplished 22-5 win over France in the Six Nations at Dubarry Park this evening.

They took a 15-5 lead into the break, with all the hosts’ points coming courtesy of the boot of Tom Daly.

A Romain Ruffenach try on 11 minutes had kept France well in the game, however a solid second-half display was enough to ensure Ireland’s third consecutive win over their opponents at this level.

Conor Joyce effectively sealed their win on 65 minutes, as Mike Ruddock’s side capitalised on an indiscplined second-half performance from the French, in which Baptiste Serin and Gaël Fickou were sin-binned, in addition to Florian Vialelle’s yellow in the first period.
