A PROPOSED TRANSFER which would see Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic join Belgian side Anderlecht fell through at the final hour on Friday.
The clubs had reportedly agreed a €3.3 million deal for the 24-year-old in a move which would see the player’s four year association with the Merseyside club come to an end.
The Serbian international flew to Belgium to negotiate personal details, however the deal collapsed late on Friday night.

Markovic joined Liverpool following a promising spell at Benfica, but has failed to break into the Reds’ squad under the management of Jurgen Klopp, who replaced Brendan Rodgers during the 2015/16 season.
Liverpool were keen to offload the player following multiple spells away on loan, however a breakdown after failing to negotiate personal terms with Anderlecht saw the transfer fail to materialise, casting doubt over the forward’s future.
Markovic has made 34 appearances for Liverpool, but has not featured for the club since May 2015.
