The Departures Lounge: United set to swoop for Celtic's Wanyama?

Alex Ferguson’s men are also understood to be on the verge of signing Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha for £15m.

WILFRIED ZAHA ISN’T the only youngster who has been attracting Alex Ferguson’s interest of late.

According to The Sun, the veteran Manchester United manager has been highly impressed by Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama.

Consequently, the club are apparently set to make a £10m summer bid for the player.

Let’s hope, for Wanyama’s sake, that this prospective deal turns out better than the last one involving a highly-rated Celtic youngster moving to United – Liam Miller.

United’s rivals, Liverpool, are also look to seal the deal for another acclaimed young player.

The Daily Telegraph reports that the club have made an improved £8 million offer for Inter Milan’s Philippe Coutinho, as interest in the player intensifies.

Finally, in manager transfer news, Jose Mourinho has fuelled speculation of an imminent return to Chelsea by saying that he regrets only spending three years at the club.

Going?

Liverpool’s Pepe Reina has been the subject of much speculation recently. Barcelona reportedly want the Spanish player to replace Victor Valdes, and according to the Metro, he is intent on having showdown talks with the Merseyside club in the coming days.

Going?

BBC Sport are suggesting that Manchester United are on the verge of signing Crystal Palace youngster Wilfried Zaha. The player will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours before completing his £15m move. He will also be loaned back to Crystal Palace for the duration of this season.

Gone!

Tottenham fans will be disappointed to learn that long-term target Fernando Llorente has chosen to go to Juventus. According to the Juventus website, the player will join the club officially on 1 July 2013.
