Meath include senior players Wallace, Harnan and McMahon in U21 side to face Louth

The teams meet at the Leinster quarter-final stage in Dundalk on Wednesday night.

EAMONN WALLACE, PADRAIG Harnan and Bryan McMahon are all named in the Meath U21 side who face Louth at the Leinster quarter-final stage on Wednesday night.

All three players started for Mick O’Dowd’s Meath senior team that lost to Armagh in Division 2 of the league last Saturday night.

But Meath will have to plan without exciting attacker Cillian O’Sullivan, who struck 1-1 in the county senior side’s league opener against Galway last month,  as he is ruled out through injury.

Harnan will line out at wing-back while Wallace and McMahon featured in the full-forward line alongside Wallace’s brother Joey.

Meath midfielder Conor Sheridan has also been involved with the senior squad this year. Sheridan, Harnan and Shane McEntee all featured for the UCD Sigerson Cup side that reached the semi-final stages last month.

MEATH: Andy Colgan (Donaghmore/Ashbourne); Simon Carty (Dunderry), Conor McGill (Ratoath), David McQuillan (St Patrick’s); Padraig Harnan (Moynalvey), Shane Amelia (Donaghmore/Ashbourne), Shane McEntee (St Peter’s Dunboyne); Adam Flanagan (Clonard), Conor Sheridan (Simonstown Gaels); Charles Brogan (Carnaross), Bobby O’Brien (Ratoath), Neil Shortall (Curraha); Eamonn Wallace (Ratoath), Bryan McMahon (Ratoath), Joey Wallace (Ratoath).
