Munster men: O'Sullivan names his Interpro squad

Munster football manager Ger O’Sullivan has named a 24-man panel for Sunday’s Interprovincial semi-final against Leinster.

GER O’SULLIVAN HAS included four Kerrymen in his Munster football squad to face Leinster in the M. Donnelly Interprovincial semi-finals on Sunday.

Tomás Ó Sé, who played on the last Munster team to win the competition in 2008, joins his inter-county team-mates Brendan Kealy, Aidan O’Mahony and Seamus Scanlon in O’Sullivan’s 24-man panel.

Cork have six representatives in the squad, while the remainder of the players come from Limerick, Clare and Waterford.

At the tournament launch in Croke Park yesterday, an angry O’Sullivan made reference to the small pool of Kerry players who had made themselves available for selection this year.

“It doesn’t surprise me that much but it disappoints me that one of the top counties in the country wouldn’t give it more support,” he told the Irish Examiner. “I think the players would like to play but they have a training schedule laid down for this week.”

Throw-in for Sunday’s game in Parnell Park is at 2pm. Tickets are €10 for adults, €5 for students and senior citizens, with children aged 16 and under admitted free of charge.

Munster Football Panel: Gary Brennan (Clare), Gordan Kelly (Clare), David Tubridy (Clare), Graham Canty (Cork), Mark Collins (Cork), Patrick Kelly (Cork), Paul Kerrigan (Cork), Paudie Kissane (Cork), Alan Quirke (Cork), Brendan Kealy (Kerry), Aidan O Mahony (Kerry), Tomás Ó Se (Kerry), Seamus Scanlon (Kerry), Seanie Buckley (Limerick), John Cooke (Limerick), Steven Lavin (Limerick), Johnny McCarthy (Limerick), Pa Ranahan (Limerick), Ian Ryan (Limerick), Shane Briggs (Waterford), Gary Hurney (Waterford), Patrick Hurney (Waterford), Maurice O’Gorman (Waterford), Thomas O’Gorman (Waterford).
