EOIN REDDAN MAY have opened his international try-scoring account against Scotland last weekend but that won’t stop him from glancing nervously over his shoulder at the progress which Tomás O’Leary is making.
O’Leary, who started Ireland’s opening Six Nations games against Italy and France at scrum-half, was ruled out of last weekend’s trip to Murrayfield with a back injury.
As the Munster man continues his recovery, he has joined up with Sunday’s starting fifteen for a two-day training camp which takes place at Carton House today and tomorrow.
Ireland’s medical staff will continue to monitor his progress to see if he can be included in the panel for next weekend’s penultimate match-up.
The remainder of the Irish panel which faced Scotland have been released to their clubs ahead of this weekend’s round of Magners League fixtures.
Leo Cullen and Jonathan Sexton will be available for Leinster’s game against the Llanelli Scarlets on Friday, Tom Court and Paddy Wallace have returned to Ulster, while Sean Cronin is currently with the Connacht camp.
As reported here yesterday, Peter Stringer and Denis Leamy will be available for selection by Tony McGahan’s Munster.
