TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR CONTINUED their summer binge when they signed Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush on loan from Manchester City.
The 27-year-old joined on a season-long loan, but Tottenham said that “the deal includes an obligation to make the move permanent next summer”.
That will cost £60 million (€70 million), British media reported.
Marmoush became Tottenham’s second signing from City in a matter of days, after Brazil winger Savio joined on Tuesday for a reported initial fee of £75 million (€87.47 million) — and scored on his debut on Wednesday.
After the Savio deal, Tottenham’s overall outlay in the summer transfer window had passed £300 million (€349.9 million).
Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, and Jan Paul van Hecke all joined earlier for hefty fees and defenders Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi came in on free transfers.
“Omar is exactly the kind of player we want at this club – ambitious, hungry and determined to make a difference,” said Tottenham head coach Roberto De Zerbi, on the club website.
“He brings pace, intelligence and a real threat in front of goal.”
Marmoush, who is 27, joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 but, with Erling Haaland established at centre forward, struggled for playing time in his preferred position. He scored 16 goals in 62 appearances for City.
He has played 55 times for Egypt, scoring 11 times and appeared in all five matches as his country reached the round of 16 at this summer’s World Cup.
“It feels amazing to be here,” Marmoush told Tottenham’s website.

Elsewhere, Jenni Hermoso, the victim of the Luis Rubiales “forced kiss” controversy after Spain won the 2023 Women’s World Cup, rejoined Atlético Madrid on Thursday.
Hermoso, 36, left Mexican side Tigres Femenil earlier in August.
“I have been lucky enough to choose where I want to be, and today I feel privileged to say that I am in the place I want to be,” said the forward, ahead of her third spell with the Rojiblancos.
Hermoso began her career with Atlético and helped them win the Spanish league in 2019, the last time any side other than Barcelona lifted the trophy.
She played for Barcelona over two spells, as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Rayo Vallecano among other clubs.

Finally, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Emiliano Martínez from Aston Villa for £7.5 million (€8.75 million), the Press Association understands.
The 33-year-old will move to Stamford Bridge on a two-year deal, bringing to an end his six-year stay at Villa.
Martinez’s representatives made contact with Chelsea on Wednesday about a possible move, and things accelerated quickly to finalise a deal for the goalkeeper, who will likely become the club’s number one.
Villa signed Japan international Zion Suzuki earlier in the transfer window and had been looking to offload Martinez. A proposed move to Juventus fell through earlier in August.
Chelsea’s goalkeeping situation has been under renewed scrutiny following Robert Sanchez’s poor performance in Monday’s 3-2 win against Fulham when he was badly at fault in allowing a tame shot from Josh King to squeeze through him.
It had been hoped that 19-year-old Belgian goalkeeper Mike Penders, who spent last season on loan at Strasbourg and made his first-team debut against Luton in the Carabao Cup on Thursday, would eventually prove able to step up and challenge Sanchez for the number one shirt.
However, the possibility of signing an established Premier League keeper and an experienced international presents obvious advantages for a club looking to challenge for the title this season, and Chelsea have opted to move.

Speaking on Sky Sports’ coverage of Monday’s game at Craven Cottage, former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher said: “Chelsea will never win the league with Sanchez in goal. Impossible. It can’t happen.”
Fellow pundit Gary Neville added: “The reality of it is, Chelsea do need a new goalkeeper, and it’s one thing I’m surprised they haven’t dealt with this in the transfer window. That’s the last piece.”
Sanchez’s performances have been an issue that has haunted successive Chelsea managers.
Mauricio Pochettino dropped him as his number one in 2024, preferring the relatively untested Serbia international Djordje Petrovic, whilst Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior also left him out for periods in response to poor form.
Villa have been open to selling Martinez, who joined from Arsenal for £17 million (€19.83 million) in 2020, as they look to lower the average age of their squad.
The need for the club to sell this summer – with Morgan Rogers leaving for Chelsea for £117m (€136.46 million), and Youri Tielemans and Lucas Digne also sold – has been well documented as they look to comply with the financial rules of both Uefa and the Premier League.
