Rob Hennelly back on form as Mayo senior football quarter-final line-up now complete

Hennelly kept a clean sheet today as his club Breaffy ensured progress to the last eight of the county championship.

ROB HENNELLY WAS back to his best for Breaffy this afternoon as the Mayo senior football championship quarter-final line-up was completed.

Goalkeeper Hennelly, who endured a difficult outing in last Saturday’s All-Ireland senior football final replay defeat to Dublin, pulled off a brilliant double save at a crucial stage in the second half as Breaffy got past the challenge of Davitts to finish on top of Group 1 with three wins from three outings.

Hennelly preserved a clean sheet as goals from Kevin Curry and Peter Dravins helped Breaffy win by 2-11 to 0-11 on their travels.

Also in Group 1, Garrymore’s 2-13 to 3-10 draw with Claremorris saw them claim second place and a spot in the quarter-finals.

Despite losing to Ballintubber, Aghamore join today’s conquerors in the quarter-finals.

Ballintubber won by 2-10 to 0-8 while in the other Group 2 fixture, Charlestown Sarsfields edged out Hollymount-Carramore by a single point, 1-13 to 2-9.

In group 3, Castlebar Mitchels and Crossmolina Deel Rovers advance to the quarter-final stage.

Castlebar beat Ballina by 1-15 to 0-11 today as Crossmolina enjoyed a big win over Ballinrobe, 4-16 to 2-7.

Andy Moran’s Ballaghaderreen are also through to the quarter-finals, despite losing to Knockmore by 2-7 to 1-12.

Moran scored his side’s two goals but Ballaghaderreen advance along with Knockmore to the knock-out stages.
