What role will Given have in the squad now?
He's back

Shay Given has returned to the Republic of Ireland squad this evening

The Donegal keeper is included for the first time since Euro 2012.

MARTIN O’NEILL NAMED his squad for the friendlies against Oman and Georgia today and the 125 times capped goalkeeper Shay Given was included in the 27 man panel. Given’s possible inclusion drew a lot of different views earlier in the week and it will be interesting to see what role O’Neill has in mind for the keeper.

Andy Reid has been withdrawn from the squad due to injury while Darren Randolph, Ciaran Clark, Paul McShane, Shane Duffy, Damien Delaney, Simon Cox and Conor Sammon are on standby.

Robbie Keane is carrying a slight injury but O’Neill hopes he will be fit in time for the Georgia match.

Here is the squad in full:

David Forde, Keiren Westwood, Shay Given, Rob Elliot, Richard Keogh, Marc Wilson, Seamus Coleman, John O’Shea, Alex Pearce, Joey O’Brien, James McCarthy, Stephen Ward, Glenn Whelan, Darron Gibson, Aiden McGeady, Anthony Pilkington, James McClean, Robbie Brady, Stephen Quinn, David Meyler, Wes Hoolahan, Robbie Keane, Shane Long, Daryl Murphy, Jon Walters, Kevin Doyle and Anthony Stokes.

Do you think Shay Given should be back in the squad?
