THROW IN: We’re underway in Thurles.

mins – A chance for Jason Forde to get Tipp back on terms immediately but he pulls his free right and wide.

mins — Cork 0-1 Tipperary 0-1: Jake Morris draws the free from Eoin Downey, and Eoghan Connolly steps up to point the free from distance and open Tipp’s account.

mins — Cork 0-2 Tipperary 0-1: Tommy O’Connell finds Shane Barrett on his shoulder and he splits the posts to nudge Cork back in front.

mins — Cork 0-3 Tipperary 0-1: Fine strike from Darragh Fitzgibbon, who is left with the freedom of Thurles out on the right wing.

mins – Tim O’Mahony pulls a long-range free left and wide.

mins — Cork 0-4 Tipperary 0-1: William Buckley flicks a short stick pass back to Fitzgibbon, and he points again. He’s popping up everywhere in these first few minutes.

mins — Cork 0-4 Tipperary 0-3: Jake Morris and Oisin O’Donoghue fire over a quick double and just like that, Tipp are back within a point.

mins – Darragh Fitzgibbon stirs HawkEye from its slumber for the first time this afternoon with a shot from out wide on the left… and after what seems a longer-than-usual delay, the usual on-screen graphic doesn’t display, leaving everyone momentarily confused. Sean Stack informs his umpire to signal a wide, and on we go.

mins — Cork 0-5 Tipperary 0-3: No HawkEye needed this time around; Darragh Fitzgibbon has his fourth of the afternoon.

mins — Cork 0-6 Tipperary 0-3: Barrs man William Buckley marks his championship debut with a score, showing good composure under pressure from the Tipp defence.

mins — Cork 0-6 Tipperary 0-5: Jason Forde points a free, and no sooner than the ball is pucked out, Jake Morris has it back over Patrick Collins’ bar. One-point game.

mins — Cork 0-6 Tipperary 0-6: John McGrath shakes off the attention of Mark Coleman to open his account for the afternoon.

mins – Oisin O’Donoghue is pinged for a bit of a loose tackle with the hurl, but Tim O’Mahony is off the mark from the long-range free once again. That’s two misses.

mins – Make that three misses, as O’Mahony gets a chance to make quick amends, and drags it wide again.

mins — Tipperary 0-7 Cork 0-6: Jason Forde’s sideline cut is a bit scuffed, but Stefan Tobin gets out in front of Rob Downey to win the free. Forde makes no mistake and Tipp lead for the first time.

mins — Tipperary 0-8 Cork 0-6: Jake Morris’s sideline cut breaks into a Tipp hand, and Willie Connors is in the pocket to pop it over the bar.

mins — Tipperary 0-9 Cork 0-6: Sean O’Donoghue is pinged for a jersey pull as he competes under a high ball into the full-forward line. Jason Forde takes his point from the free.

mins — Tipperary 0-9 Cork 0-7: Alan Connolly points, which — after a bright start — is Cork’s first score in the guts of 10 minutes.

mins — Tipperary 0-10 Cork 0-7: Conor Stakelum restores Tipp’s three-point lead.

mins — Tipperary 0-10 Cork 0-8: Liam Cahill protests a little too vigorously for referee Sean Stack’s liking, and the Tipp boss is pinged under the new dissent rule, which gives Alan Connolly’s a tap-over free in front of the posts.

mins — Tipperary 0-11 Cork 0-8: Mark Coleman is whistled for picking the ball straight off the ground, and Jason Forde points; that’s four on the day now for Forde.

mins — Tipperary 0-11 Cork 0-10: Darragh Fitzgibbon overcooks a pass back to Mark Coleman, but Cork reset and switch the play from left to right, where Shane Barrett points.

mins — Tipperary 0-11 Cork 0-10: Cork go direct into the full-forwards and Brian Hayes battles to break it to William Buckley. He has a half-sight on goal but rasps it over Rhys Shelly’s bar.

mins — Tipperary 0-11 Cork 0-11: Barry Walsh shortens the grip as Mikey Breen races to close him down, and flicks a score over the bar. This is starting to heat up nicely now.

mins — Tipperary 0-12 Cork 0-11: Cork’s short puck-out strategy has them under pressure at times, and this time, Tommy O’Connell is dispossessed and little option other than to concede a free. He picks up a yellow card for his trouble, and Forde points the free.

mins – Brian Hayes manages to get his shot away from wide on the left, but it’s just wide. That’s seven Cork wides now to four for Tipp in this first half.

mins – Ronan Maher picks out Jason Forde with a nice ball into the corner, but Ciaran Joyce is equal to the effort and makes the block.

+1 mins — Tipperary 0-12 Cork 0-12: Barry Walsh shows exactly why he’s starting here today with a fine point to draw Cork level.

+2 mins — Tipperary 0-13 Cork 0-13: Oisin O’Donoghue puts Tipp in front but it’s quickly back down the other end for William Buckley to level.

HALF TIME: Tipperary 0-13 Cork 0-13

SECOND HALF: Back underway in Thurles – Darragh McCarthy is on for Tipp, with Stefan Tobin the man to make way.

mins — Tipperary 0-14 Cork 0-13: Early free for Tipp around midfield, and Eoghan Connolly steps up to point.

mins — Tipperary 0-14 Cork 0-14: Barry Walsh cuts back inside, and Bryan O’Mara concedes the free — the Tipp man hurts himself in the process and needs attention, but he’s back to his feet now. Alan Connolly points the free.

mins — Cork 0-15 Tipperary 0-14: Barry Walsh now has three for the day and Cork lead by one.

mins — Cork 0-15 Tipperary 0-15: Eoin Downey soars into the air to claim a high ball, but when he lands, he thunders through Oisin O’Donoghue, and concedes the free for charging — and picks up a yellow card for his protests. Forde points the free.

mins — Tipperary sub: Here comes Noel McGrath; brother John heads off.

mins — Tipperary 0-16 Cork 0-16: Robert Downey follows brother Eoin into the referee’s notebook. Forde nudges Tipp back in front with a free, but Brian Hayes has Cork level again quickly.

mins — Cork 0-17 Tipperary 0-16: At the fourth time of asking, Tim O’Mahony converts the long-range free and Cork lead again.

mins – Conor Stakelum gives William Buckley enough of a nudge in the back to concede a free, but it’s wide from Alan Connolly. That’s Stakelum’s final contribution as Alan Tynan comes on to replace him.

mins — Cork 0-18 Tipperary 0-16: William Buckley digs out a loose ball, and feeds it back to Barry Walsh, who points to extend Cork’s lead. The two championship debutants are certainly having an impact today.

mins – Mark Coleman has a go from a free from miles inside his own half, and while it has the distance, it doesn’t have the accuracy. That’s 10 wides now for Cork.

mins — Cork 0-19 Tipperary 0-16: Craig Morgan is pinged for a thrown pass; Alan Connolly points the free.

mins — Cork 0-20 Tipperary 0-16: There’s William Buckley again, and Cork have really started to exert themselves now as the game hits the final quarter.

mins — Cork 0-21 Tipperary 0-16: Shane Barrett is held by Eoghan Connolly, and Alan Connolly points the free from the right. Five-point lead now.

mins — Cork 0-22 Tipperary 0-16: Mikey Breen is pinged for fouling the ball, and Alan Connolly stretches Cork’s lead to six.

mins — Cork 0-24 Tipperary 0-17: End-to-end stuff here; Alan Connolly and Shane Barrett point for Cork either side of a Darragh McCarthy point.

mins — Cork 0-25 Tipperary 0-17: Tim O’Mahony launches a big score and Cork now lead by eight. Tipp need goals if they’re to fight their way back into this one.

mins — Cork 0-26 Tipperary 0-17: Brian Hayes breaks a puckout down to feet, and quick as a flash, William Buckley has it scooped and fired over the bar.

mins — Cork substitution: Alan Walsh is on to replace Brian Hayes.

mins — Cork 0-26 Tipperary 0-18: Darragh McCarthy lines up a free with the jeers of Cork fans whistling in his ears; he points it, and life goes on.

mins – Alan Connolly has a rare sight on goal but flashes his shot just wide of the post with Rhys Shelly at full stretch diving to his left.

mins — Cork 0-26 Tipperary 0-19: Sam O’Farrell doesn’t have a Cork jersey near him as he points from the left.

mins – Alan Connolly hits Cork’s 13th wide; Tipp, per RTÉ, have only had five all afternoon.

mins — Cork 0-26 Tipperary 0-20: Darragh Stakelum brings Tipp back within six.

mins — Cork 0-26 Tipperary 0-21: Sean O’Donoghue reaches his hurl across the legs of Andrew Ormond, and that’s enough for a Tipp free in the eyes of Sean Stack. Darragh McCarthy points, and that’s four unanswered now for Tipp.

mins — Cork 0-28 Tipperary 0-21: That Tipp mini revival is over as Shane Barrett and Alan Walsh push Cork’s lead back out to seven again.

Four additional minutes to be played.

GOAL FOR TIPPERARY! Cork 0-28 Tipperary 1-21 (Alan Tynan, 70+1′)

Well now… Alan Tynan buries a precise shot, tucked in the bottom left corner of Patrick Collins’ goal. The margin is four again, and there’s time for a few more possessions here.

+3 mins – Mark Coleman has a chance to steady the ship from a free but puts it wide.

+4 mins — Cork 0-28 Tipperary 1-22: Darragh McCarthy forces a good stick save from Collins, but there’s advantage being played, and McCarthy points the free to make it a three-point game with probably just enough time for one last play.

+5 mins: Cork 0-29 Tipperary 1-22: It’s a Cork free, and William Buckley points it to close out a day when he scored a brilliant 0-6.

FULL TIME: Cork 0-29 Tipperary 1-22

So that’s it from Semple Stadium — it’s hard to argue with the results as Cork looked that little bit better in every department, particularly in the second half, their cause helped no end by two excellent showings from Barry Walsh and player of the match William Buckley on their senior championship debuts.

Up next for the Rebels, it’s the visit of Limerick to Páirc Uí Chaoimh next Sunday, while Tipp are on the road to face Waterford in Walsh Park.
