Full-time: Dublin 0-22 Wexford 1-14

Hello and welcome to this evening’s Leinster SHC semi-final liveblog.

These two sides are very familiar with each other and will face off for the third time in less than a year in the championship.

Will it take two games to separate them this year? The bookies say no with Dublin 4/7 favourites but what do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

This is the second game Sky Sports are showing and they’re opening up with some of the tweets from British viewers last weekend.

We spoke to the author of one of the best ones:

This is a new warm-up method for us:

Simon Lambert Simon Lambert of Dublin keeps up to date with the Colombia v Greece score. Cathal Noonan / INPHO Cathal Noonan / INPHO / INPHO

They’re piping the national anthem through the speakers and we’re about to get under way in Wexford Park.

Referee Colm Lyons from Cork gets the game going.

Wexford 0-2 Dublin 0-0: 1min Joey Boland, Johnny McCaffrey and Conal Keaney hit wides for Dublin but the home side score through Conor McDonald and Jack Guiney.

Wexford 0-2 Dublin 0-1: 4mins We’ve the games first yellow card with Ciaran Kenny rightly adjudged to have fouled Ryan O’Dwyer, Alan McCrabbe makes no mistake with the free.

Wexford 0-3 Dublin 0-2: 6mins The sides were briefly level, McCrabbe from play this time, but Diarmuid O’Keeffe has restored Wexford’s lead.

Wexford 0-3 Dublin 0-3: 7mins Wexford can’t seem to pick up McCrabbe and the half-forward has his third score of the game.

It’s been a frantic start.

Wexford 1-3 Dublin 0-4: 8mins Dublin took the lead for the first time through Conal Keaney with a superb score but Podge Doran has put Wexford back in control with the game’s first goal after a lovely touch in front of goal to keep bring the home crowd back into the game.

Stephen Hiney picks up Dublin’s first yellow card.

Looking at the Wexford goal again, great strength shown by Conor McDonald in the build up. Text book full-forward play.

Still a few teething problems for Sky as they re-hash last week’s graphics:

Wexford 1-4 Dublin 0-4: 15mins We’d gone seven minutes without a score but McDonald wins a free in front of the posts and Paul Morris makes no mistake with the place ball.

Wexford 1-4 Dublin 0-6: 16mins Nice work from Dublin to reduce the deficit to just one point as first Paul Ryan – on as a sub – and then McCrabbe both point.

Wexford 1-5 Dublin 0-6: 21mins Wexford are hitting an awful lot of wides, four so far, and they’ve all been from very makable opportunities.

Goalscorer Podge Doran makes no mistake though with his first point of the game.

There’s a great battle going on between Lee Chin and Conal Keaney. That could be the winning and losing of today’s game if the early stages are anything to go by.

Wexford 1-5 Dublin 0-8: 26mins Another wide for Wexford but Conor McDonald is looking unplayable at the moment.

Down the other end, Paul Ryan and Colm Cronin put the sides level for the third time.

Dublin 0-9 Wexford 1-5: 27mins Keaney’s second point puts the reigning Leinster champions back into the lead.

Dublin 0-10 Wexford 1-5: 29mins Keaney starting to win the battle with Chin and the Wexford player gives away a needless free. McCrabbe scores his fifth point to put Dublin two ahead for the first time.

Dublin 0-10 Wexford 1-5: 32mins Wexford badly need a score. Ryan O’Dwyer is going off as a blood sub after taking a sliotar full-force in the head while attempting a block down. Conor McCorkmack comes in.

Dublin still lead by two.

Dublin 0-10 Wexford 1-6: 33mins Liam Óg McGovern gets Wexford’s first score in 11 minutes with a well-taken point.

Ryan O’Dwyer is back in for Dublin.

Dublin 0-11 Wexford 1-6: 35mins Diarmuid O’Keeffe is is trouble for Wexford as Alan McCrabbe points his sixth score to restore Dublin’s two point lead.

Half-time

Dublin 0-11 Wexford 1-6: 35mins + 2 Wexford hit their eighth wide of the first half as Colm Lyons brings an end to the opening period.

First half scoring

Dublin: Alan McCrabbe 0-6 (0-4f), Paul Ryan and Conal Keaney 0-2 each, Colin Cronin 0-1.

Wexford: Podge Doran 1-1, Liam Óg McGovern, Paul Morris, Diarmuid O’Keeffe, Conor McDonald and Jack Guiney 0-1 each.

Podge Doran celebrates his goal:

Seeing some good tweets coming in about hurling in the UK again. These two are our favourites so far.

The second half is under way and Wexford start with wide.

Dublin 0-11 Wexford 1-7: 38mins Colm Lyons is forced to over-rule his umpire after he inexplicably missed a great save by Alan Nolan from Podge Doran.

Paul Morris makes no mistake with the 65.

Dublin 0-11 Wexford 1-8: 42mins A pull on Diarmuid O’Keeffe earns Wexford a free in front of goal. Keaney picks up Dublin’s second yellow for the foul.

Morris levels things up for the fourth time with the free.

Dublin 0-12 Wexford 1-8: 43mins Keaney with Dublin’s first point of the second half to put Dublin back in front.

Nialll McMorrow is in for Ryan O’Dwyer.

Dublin 0-13 Wexford 1-8: 45mins McCrabbe makes no mistake with another free.

You have to say, since Schutte went in to mark McDonald in the full-back line, Wexford don’t look half the goal threat they did in the first half.

SUB: Garret Sinnott is in for Jack Guiney as Wexford make their first change.

Dublin 0-16 Wexford 1-8: 49mins Fabulous point from Keaney – his fourth – and McCrabbe and Boland quickly follow up and the lead is suddenly five.

Dublin 0-17 Wexford 1-9: 52mins Since Anthony Daly moved Keaney away from Lee Chin, he has been devastating.

McDonald grabs a point back for Wexford but they need goals.

Dublin 0-17 Wexford 1-10: 54mins A long range Morris free reduces the gap to four.

Dublin 0-18 Wexford 1-10: 57mins McCrabbe has been faultless from place balls today and he has just pointed his ninth score, the sixth from a free.

Morris with his second 65 reduces the gap to four again.

Sub: Eoin Moore is on for Harry Kehoe plus David Redmond for Diarmuid O’Keeffe  for Wexford.

SUB: Ian Byrne in for the ineffective Rory Jacob as Liam Dunne empties the benches.

Dublin 0-18 Wexford 1-12: 60mins Two half chances for Wexford as first Podge Doran and then Paul Morris are both denied by Alan Nolan.

Lee Chin scores his first point of the game though to reduce the gap to three.

Dublin 0-21 Wexford 1-12: 61mins Two long range points from Carton in 10 seconds is followed up by a brilliant Paul Ryan effort. Is that the game?

Dublin 0-21 Wexford 1-14: 65mins Colm Cronin is the third Dublin player to pick up a yellow card. Morris makes no mistake from the free and there’s four between them.

Dublin 0-22 Wexford 1-14: 70mins Sub David Treacy gets his first score of the match to make it a five point lead again.

Wexford have a goal chance but it just broke the wrong side of their forwards.

Full-time -

Dublin 0-22 Wexford 1-14: Colm Lyons blows the long whistle and Dublin will play Kilkenny or Galway in the Leinster SHC final

Conal Keaney picked up Sky Sports man of the match as Dublin outscored their hosts by 11 scores to seven in the first half and 11 to eight in the second.

For their part, Wexford will count the cost of all those missed chances.

Right, that’s it from me.

Always, thanks for joining us. We’ll have the match report up soon but feel free to continue the discussion in the comments below.
