Adam Johnson's sister launches Facebook campaign to help his appeal

Faye Johnson wants people to change their profile picture to one of the disgraced footballer hugging his infant child.

ADAM JOHNSON’S SISTER has launched a Facebook campaign to help support the disgraced footballer’s pending appeal against his recent child sex convictions.

Faye Johnson, who was a constant presence in court during the trial in Bradford, has posted an image to the site which shows Johnson hugging and kissing his infant child, Ayla.

The toddler is wearing a Sunderland jersey with ‘Daddy 11′ on the back.

The campaign urges the public to use the image as their new Facebook profile picture in an effort to support Johnson’s appeal.

A Facebook page – ‘the Adam Johnson’s Appeal Fight’, which was also set up by Johnson’s sister – already has over 2,000 likes.

A custodial sentence appears likely for the 28-year-old after he was found guilty of one count of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl last week.

He had previously denied all allegations he faced until the opening day of the trial when he pleaded guilty to grooming and kissing the minor.

Sentencing will take place later this month.
