Joe Marler could be in more trouble after calling a former Australia coach a 'w****r' on Twitter

The English prop is currently resting having not travelled to Australia

ENGLAND PROP JOE Marler is being investigated by the RFU after calling former Australia coach Bob Dwyer a “wanker” on Twitter.

Dwyer was very critical of the English scrum after England’s 39-28 win over the Wallabies on Saturday, citing Dan Cole in particular for scrummaging illegally.

He said:

“How anyone could have allowed Dan Cole to scrummage the way he did was absolutely beyond me.”

This prompted Marler to take to social media to tweet:

Bob Dwyer is a wanker”

The tweet was quickly deleted.

However, the RFU have a strict social media and, while Marler is not on tour, they are investigating according to the BBC.

The Harlequins player has had a difficult year. In April, he was fined €25,000 and handed a two-week ban for calling Wales player Samson Lee a “gypsy boy” during the Six Nations.

In his first game back he was then given a further two weeks to sit and think about what he’d done after kicking Grenoble hooker Arnuad Heguy.

England will seal a first series win in Australia if they claim victory the second Test in Melbourne on Saturday.
