WATERFORD HURLING GREATS Ken McGrath and Tony Browne are both set to have roles as part of a management team for the coming season.
The Deise duo will be involved with the Waterford IT Fitzgibbon Cup team, which will be managed by Paraic Fanning, the current Wexford senior hurling coach and former Waterford selector.
Kilkenny All-Ireland winning goalkeeper PJ Ryan, who has also had a role with Davy Fitzgerald’s Wexford backroom team, will be involved along with another Kilkenny native Alan Roche.
Both McGrath and Browne enjoyed decorated Waterford playing careers, winning four Munster senior hurling medals and three All-Star awards apiece.
McGrath has served as a Waterford senior selector with Michael Ryan and managed his club Mount Sion, while his club-mate Browne has been involved with the Waterford U21 hurling sides in recent years.
The Waterford IT manager Fanning was captain when the third-level outfit claimed their first ever Fitzgibbon Cup title in 1992. More recently WIT have claimed the crown in 2008 and 2014.
