Mario Balotelli escapes unhurt after car crash

The club have said the Italian striker was not at fault for the accident.

MAN CITY STRIKER Mario Balotelli escaped unhurt today, after he was involved in a car crash in Manchester city centre.

The club confirmed that Balotelli and the driver of the other vehicle were uninjured following the accident, while also suggesting Balotelli was not to blame for the incident.

However, a female passenger in Balotelli’s car was taken to hospital “as a precaution”.

The Manchester Evening News reports an eyewitness as saying:

“It happened quite fast. The Corsa was doing a U-turn at the time.

“The Corsa span 360 degrees – it was a hefty bang. The Bentley stopped for a couple of seconds and then drove around the corner and pulled up.

“Mario wound the window down and said ‘get that man to me’. I don’t think he wanted to get out. A girl was with him and she looked shook up.

“The driver of the other car was dazed. His car was a mess.”

It is the second time Balotelli has been involved in a car crash since he moved to the club in August 2010.
